This tower built in 1652 guarded the Gozo shoreline from pirates and other invaders. Later it was also used to protect Fungus Rock from those who might land and harvest the fungus growing there. This fungus was believed to have amazing medicinal powers. 60 x 80 cm oil on canvas.
