Hope Valley was full of sunshine and snow making it a gorgeous day to paint outside. Monika and I worked on a few paintings yesterday. Poor Bella (Monika’s retriever), fell in the icy river at one point making it more interesting than we wanted. No worries she is fine. Oil on linen 6″ X 8″. Click on the link below to see pictures of the day.
Painted in my favorite nearby meadow last Wednesday just before the big snow. The field was still very golden with traces of snow in the pathway as it snowed on me twice while there! Oil on linen 12″ X 16″.
I received a gift of these beautiful persimmons by my friend Kim. They were set up in my studio for a still life. I hope you like them. Oil on linen gallery wrapped 8″ X 10″. If you click on the link you can see the set up for the painting.
This scene from a small 12″ X 16″ study was brought to a larger scale in the studio. Sonoma fall vineyard looking down from Gloria Ferrer Winery. Oil on canvas 24″ X 36″.
Looking down from the Sonoma Caves & Vineyards of Gloria Ferrer there was still some fall color on these vines. We are so lucky to live 15 minutes from this valley and the Carneros region. The Los Carneros name dates from the 1830s, when Mexico administered this region. There were sheep and dairy farms here until the 1970s. Today Carneros has 8,000 vineyard acres and more than 20 wineries. 16″ X 12″ oil on linen.
