These massively strong horses were pulling an old Dutch Sailing Ship on the tow path running next to the canal in Oudewater. This is how it was done when ships did not have engines and the canals were too narrow to hoist sails for maneuvering. It was an unusual scene for us to see. 30 cm x 40 cm gouache.
