This painting entailed an unusual plein air excursion. I took the Heavenly Gondola and then the Tamarack lift where I had to jump off the chair carrying my gear as I reached 9,100 feet of elevation. The lift operator did not slow anything down coming or going. It was very windy, so major exposure from the sun at that elevation without an umbrella. Simple painting, but the lake colors really are what I saw this day. 12″ x 16″ oil on linen.
